A new PVC carbon footprinting and sustainability tool has been developed to allow quick and easy assessments of environmental and economic sustainability of PVC products and processes along the whole supply chains.
For environmental sustainability assessment, the tool enables estimation of the following life cycle environmental impacts:
Carbon footprint (global warming potential)
Acidification potential
Eutrophication potential
Ozone layer depletion potential
Photochemical (summer) smog
Human toxicity potential
Economic sustainability assessment can be carried out through value added analysis, also included in the tool.
